This car has been for sale for a while, almost a year I would say. The price hasn't budged at all. I keep passing it by because it "only needs a fuel pump to run." I have always wanted one of these. Would it be worth trying to take a look at and diagnose? Is the fuel pump easy to change out?

Those are actually quite rare (turbo 5 speed). I can't see from the pic if it has a sunroof, but if it does it will not have enough headroom unless you are about 5 feet tall lol. I wanted one until I sat in a few of them, and the only ones with enough headroom for me are the wagons, which are pretty hard to find anyway. They are cool cars though.
i moving to marysville in 10 dayz...

Looking up the pump, it's an inline unit, not an in-tank unit. So it shouldn't be particularly difficult to replace.
I have wanted one of those ever since I saw one about 12 years ago sitting at stop light with a cage in it and SCCA stickers on the back.
There is a 505 group on facebook. I only know this because a local father/son hillclimb team have a bunch of them they race.
If the interweb doesn't give you the info you need, send me a message and I can forward a contact number. They run an auto sales and repair business, so they are fairly well versed in things automotive.
505turbo.com is the big (relatively speaking) US forum for these.
I love, love, love them. They did pretty well in SCCA showroom stock back in the day, IIRC. They are pretty comfy, great ergonomics, and not slow. Travis_K is absolutely right, though 5ft is a bit of an exaggeration - I'm 6'2" and have driven a few with sunroofs, my neck isn't kinked or anything but the top of my head is lightly compressing the headliner, haha.

Back when they were sold new in the US, I was underimpressed... until I saw one in full rally trim at the Peugot booth at the Philadelphia Car Show.

Good God man it is only $1500, would you buy that thirty year old non-running Peugeot already! Then the rest of us can sit back and bask in either your triumph or the crushing of your soul. Either way it will be entertaining for the rest of us.

I am one of the few, the proud, the former 505 owners. Mine was a diesel though. Loved that car, wish I hadn't sold it.
A 5spd 505 Turbo wagon is my unicorn.

I am getting an Mi16
I really wish I could have picked up the Mi16 in Columbus a while back.
The only thing that concerns me is that it has needed a fuel pump for over a year, if it is easy to replace why didn't they just do it and get it running?
Maybe I could buy a pump to put on it and try to get it running before I commit to buying.

I found the Mi16 that was for sale in Columbus, it was taken to northern KY and is now on ebay for $1150.

My old boss has the 505 SW8 wagon. It's not turbo, is an automatic, and is sloooooowww.
He however put the Euro-spec headlights on like the one above and it looks much, much better.

I hate FWD but I'd buy that if I had cash and was closer.

This was when the racers understood turbo boost and um, altering it, before the tech inspectors caught up. They were fast because they were boosted to the moon. Good times in Showroom Stock racing. Slept in the back seat of one in the garage next to us at Runoffs one year because it was better than the back seat of a SSGT Camaro.....

Yep, in fact one of my first submissions to GRM was a photo of a Showroom Stock 505 from the Runoffs.
we had one at a rallycross earlier this year. Not fast, but it sure looked nice. Gotta find a pic.
