Funny I have never had to replace a wheel bearing in my Civics.

Well, you do have a timing belt interval that's half the PT Cruisers, although having done both I readily admit the Civic is much easier.

So, we're no longer allowed to talk about our cars. Got it. Not sure how that works with the Magazine. Maybe someone should tell the editorial staff that we're no longer allowed to mention cars, what we're doing with them or how they're holding up.

Does it not even the score by him proclaiming it has a issue? K/H can be a underrated car, I don't see any issue with bringing attention to them. I am on my second looking for a third, and would have never considered them had it not been for the report on Autoweek, on the reliability. I would say this website is a good source on figuring out what vehicle you want, so why not Korean?

Because you make yourself such and easy target, of course.

Wait, are you the only one allowed to troll threads now?
Uh, wtf guys?
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE ISUZU TROOPER II IS THE BEST VEHICLE EVER MADE AND GETS BETTER MILEAGE AND HAULS MORE AND CAN GO FURTHER THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE, EVEN THE RIDGELINE.
In reply to Tom Suddard:
Only because the hitch on a Ridgeline causes it to instantly snap in half, unlike a REAL truck.
To help make the others feel better the h/k cars aren't perfect...
My 2011 Elantra is at the dealer so they can replace the transaxle under warranty at 74,000 miles.
My wife's Sedona need to go in for the brake light recall, along with another one to inspect and rust proof the lower control arms.
Bobzilla wrote: So the Forte goes in for it's first failure. Right front wheel bearing decided to quickly accelerate it's own demise last night. The ride home the bearing started getting louder until it started screaming. So I called the local Kia dealer (whom I used to work for), set up an appointment for next friday. Might as well get the recall for the maybe-it-will-maybe-it-won't work brake light switch. Piece of crap Korean cars. 43,400 miles and it's going to cost me nothing to get it fixed.
I went through TWO wheel bearings in the first 60k miles of my Maxima. Difference is that Nissan DIDN'T take care of it under warranty, so I had to do the damn things myself.....

Do you have a 200 mile commute or something? I drive a lot and hardly have 100k on my 2009

I average about 1500 miles a week, it is my job. Thank God the Elantra is a manual.
If you add in what I do in the toys on the weekends and GRM events I do around 80K a year, which is 20K less than I did 8 years ago, all of which was work miles.

In defense of Bob, the thread title stated it was about Korean cars, if you don't like them stay out of the thread that specifically states it is about Korean products.
My "Korean" car was built in the USA.

Let me see here, from your own post: 1, 2, 3, 4 parts failed in 80K Add in the timing belt, which the Korean car doesn't have because I specifically did not want that issue, versus, two dampers replaced because they felt weak.
Yeah, it's a straight up tie...
I liked it so much I bought a second for Mrs Aussie
On the beach at Daytona on snow tires in 2013
Maroon92 wrote: My Mazda3 rear shocks just failed at 80K. I hate this stupid car...
Good thing it was n/a. Stupid turbo one ate the rears at 50k. I still like it though.
Oh we already won that, as of this time there are people who have discovered Korean cars and their abilities, and then there are people who will one day drive a Korean car and wonder why they didn't try one of these great little appliances sooner.
BTW: Bobzilla lead me to try and buy my Elantra, I thank him every day when I do 400 miles on 10 gallons of fuel with complete reliability.
You guys know miatas kill wheel bearings prematurely to with sticky tires. Also my dodge has 300k on it with the OE wheel bearings and no slack.
Okay there goes the bickering, back to op. You may want to remove the sticky tires it'd be pretty easy to say the sticky tires caused the premature wear on thr bearings and I believe with the Magnusson ruling they'd be able to not warranty them. But if you know the people it may be a non issue but something to think about.
