Looking for ideas on hoe tonget fine sratches out of chrome. I've tried the same technique I use  on paint finishing off with off the shelf chrome polish and a mother's ball on a drill. No joy.

Coarse rubbing compound and a high speed wool pad.

It's a Metal Plating and is applied over the /Product/ first a copper then Nickle or not fer sure which comes first but the chrome over that, so when trying to Feather out around the Scratch be careful not to go too far away from the Scratch because you will see Copper and you'll go from a scratch to a worn looking spot. Just polish it and love on it, you will be fine.

Wait!  Chrome isn't supposed to have fine scratches in it?  I always thought that if it didn't have actual rust it was good.

Flitz.  The best, check Amazon. If possible, buff lightly with a powered DA or SA polisher and Flitz.

I use P21s polishing soap and #0000 Steel wool. I did my ratty (free) shift knob with this and I do it for car exhaust also. Love the results.

I have a number of jokes about polishing chrome, but no actual advice.
