Interesting that Porsche had to build this more conventional driveline layout at a lower price point than their 911 product, to save the company. Usually one hears more about Detroit Brands financial issues than one hears about brands across the pond, but it seems every brand has it's tough times and it's shining moments.
I remember back in the day about serious rumors that Porsche was going to discontinue the 911 in favor of the front engined 944 and 928.
