I know the Illuminata guys run a classic 911 in rallycross (or did, not sure if they still do). Vaugn Micchie won East Coast championships over me :/ last year in his gutted-out 924S. That is the only MR class car on this coast that I think to myself "I can't beat" (as opposed to Shawn Roberts, who I just say that about him as a driver, regardless of the car). There are a few other 944s runinng rallycross around, as well as at least one 996 that ran at nationals last year. Charli Tamaris and Robert Pepper both run 944s in stage rally and have for some time.
I may run my 924 in a non-regional event this year, just for fun. One thing all Porsches since 1980 or so have, no matter where the engine is: rear-biased weight balance. Great for rallycross!
Curious what you mean by "completely done in rallycross gear" though. You mean they had lots of stickers or something? Or that they were caged, rolling on gravel tires, and really dirty. Because most rallycross cars don't really "look" like rallycross cars lol...they just look like unwashed beaters :)

jacked up, offroad tires, about 5 7" lights across the hood and some on the roof w/ racks on the roof with "Stuff", From across the expressway wrap's and Paint in flat colors and though All I Saw were 911's they looked ready to go to the woods.aka Beaters. Kinda suprised they are not on here.

Since rallycross and stage rally cars don't carry racks with "stuff" on the roof (or roof lights, for that matter), these guys were probably doing "tribute cars" or just road rally stuff.
EDIT: saw the pics, so that's exactly what they are. Looks like they just do road trips to "outdoorsy" stuff (i.e. dirt roads) rather than actual racing/rally.
