Specifically for the G35. It will see some track use. My original plan was Porterfields or Hawk for $250+ per axle. The Power Stop track pads are $85 front and $78 rear. The reviews I've found from the BMW and Corvette crowd are pretty positive. Good bite cold, really good bite hot, no fade, decent life. Naturally they are very dusty and a little noisy at light break loads.

Have any of you guys used them? Any opinions?

I wouldn't mind saving a couple of hundred dollars per pad change, that adds up to another day at the track.

I use the Z26 pads on the Vette which aren't the full track pads. They aren't bad. I did one track day with them, but it was a partly wet day so I wasn't pushing that hard. They did survive a couple of hard brake applications coming down from 150mph without an issue. Some of the guys drove the car and think the bite from the Hawk HPS is better, but I haven't compared.

If you have a street car with "some track use" why are the pads so expensive from Hawk?

Have you looked at Raybestos?

Edit: Google says HPS for G35 front is $140. I'm a fan of these pads for combined street/track (HP+ is way to squeaky for street).

I had a friend running some of the Hawk pads on a G35 and he was burning up a set per track day. I've also heard complaints about brake fade with the HPS pads. The DTC-60s or 70s seem to be pretty durable, but they are $250.

I'm less concerned about street noise than I am getting more than one event out of a set of pads. I've run Porterfields with success but they are pretty expensive as well.

The guys that have commented on the Power Stops are saying they get 2-3 track events as well as street driving. At half the price, that would be hard to beat.

I’ve only used their street stuff, but I’ve been really impressed with it. I wouldn’t hesitate to try the track pads.

I ran the track day pads on an NC Miata with 200tw tires and compromised aero (top speed was basically 110). I can only compare to dtc 60 and hawk street/race (dtc 30). Initial bite is somewhere between the 60 and 30, pad life was comparable. No fade, they worked great on track and the track day pads didn't seem to be as hard on rotors as the Hawks. Both sucked on the street with noise, dust, etc.

Pads, my DD/track mustang runs HP+, so far four years and a few hundred laps on them.  Stock 04 cobra rotors front and rear.   Yes they make dust and squeak on light application, this is remedied by an HPDE, then they are quiet for a week or two.

On the race car we have run HP+ and HPS, either gets up about 50 hours of race time (3 or four 15 hour races).  The only time that we ever overheated the brakes is when I forgot to cool them down a touch before a driver change and better fluid would have prevented that (we boiled a caliper while resting).

No feedback on the pads in question, but I'm all for saving a buck.

I have used them on a heavy track car (e92 M3) at high-speed tracks (VIR, Summit Main-ish).  Some with 200 treadwear, and some with 100 treadwear.

I think they are about the same as StopTech Sport pads in terms of performance and durability.  I was hoping they would be better.  They cost more than the StopTech Sports, so I'm giving up on them.

All in all, I thought they had about the same bite as stock pads, but they didn't melt.  I didn't like the release feel.  About the same as the StopTech Sports but those have a little better release.

For comparison, DTC 60s and 70s on this car have a lot more bite, torque, and release feel.  But they cost more and only last about 4-6 days of HPDE.

If I really need brake torque, I pay up for PFC-01 or 11s and get about 3 weeknds.  If I need better than StopTech but I want something that lasts longer, I pay up for PFC-08s.  For arrive-and-drive, I like the StopTechs; sometimes the fronts only make it 3 weekends but they're so cheap I don't care.
