It is time to move the Falcon on. Trying to get an idea of what to ask for it. It was my daily driver for 3+ years. Solid car.
63 Falcon Futura. Has a 200ci six from a 68 Mustang connected to a T5 5 speed with a california pony cars adapter. Rear end is a narrowed Explorer 8.8 drum brake unit. Front end is Granada discs on custom coilovers. 17" charger steelies wrapped in tires with under 3K miles on them. Interior has new carpet, rebuilt seat frames with new padding under decent old seat covers
Paint is.... well old and pretty satin, but has a cool patina.
Headliner is succumbing to its age and needs to be replaced.
I am not sure if the manual trans is a positive or negative in this market. I know the 4 doors are a huge negative.
It isn't for sale just yet. I have to change the pinion bearings in the rear end and tidy a few things up first.
I am thinking I would like to land at $4500 but I really don't know the cruiser market enough to know if this is out of line. What say GRM?
Sweet car built with much love, good parts, and proper technique. I don't know if the number of doors, the number of pedals, or the number of cylinders will be a hindrance to pulling $4500, but if I was in the market I'd be taking a close look.
Trade for beater E36 M3? ;-)
If you still got it in 3 months when i move up that way id be real interested. 5speed is a big plus for me
Why do you have to be on the other end of the world?
Let me know when you nail down a price. I might be willing to ship it.
I just went looking for comparable cars for sale. There are none around here but holy E36 M3

Either that seller is on crack or I am way off in my estimate.
In reply to Jumper K. Balls:
The seller is on crack because he thinks it has a v6.

IMO that's a crack pipe price. First of all, they don't know a V6 from I6,second, with the awful looking outer body I find it hard to believe that there is no rust or body damage.
I think that you should try your starting price, maybe even a bit higher.
Personally, that particular I6 is the only negative to me, everything else is the way I would do an early Falcon. BTW, my dream restomod project is a '63 Falcon 2 door post body. Tubular front suspension, 4 wheel disks, exploder rear, 5 speed manual and 4 cyl ecotech. If I couldn't afford the ecotech I'd probably be just as happy with a Lima turbo or SBF.
Personally, I like that it's got the 200+T5 combo...I'd love to do a 63 Falcon Convertible pretty much just like that. If anything I think you might be under-valuing it a bit, but these kinds of thing all come down to finding the right buyer at the right time.

Agreed. I like the I6, the OD trans and the 4 doors. That would be perfect if it was 2900 miles closer.
2 questions.
Would it make a 2900 mile drive at interstate speeds? Does it have A/C?
Like everyone else above, I think it's perfect, 4 doors, straight 6, and all. And also wish you were closer. But yes that would make it a tougher sell to many. I think I'd price it at $6k and expect $4500
In reply to Toyman01:
It does pretty well at 65-70mph. Returns almost 30mpg at 60 for an hour. No AC. It would take a vintage air kit to do that but I have a feeling the meager amount of horsepower it has would be negatively impacted by driving a compressor.
I'd be a buyer at $4500 for sure. That sounds more than fair. Not close enough to pull the trigger though.
The $1000 it would take to go get it, makes it painful. Damn, I wish you were closer. When you nail down a price, PM me. I still might be tempted and 2900 miles, in a cool car, across the country, would be a hell of a fun trip.
It's possible you're low-balling yourself. Fully restored ones are selling for $25K+.

I am tempted to take it up to a friends place in Seattle and list it up there. Higher median income, higher prices for everything, larger buying pool and the fact that I would probably never see it again.
It would be a heart breaker to see it running around spray painted flat black with red wheels and mexican blankets covering up the awesome red interior. Not sure why, but I just know that would happen here.
Yes, try Seattle. Lots of tech money up this way, and those folks like cool toys.
And I'd start asking $8k or more, but fix the little things like the headliner first.

having the "improved" version of that motor id agree about the AC. Id likely start at 6k and see what the markets like if your not in a huge hurry to sell. alot of people who are interested in 4 door cruiser prefer an auto, while alot of the manual trans oriented crowd prefer a 2 door. Im sure theres a few folks who would like a well sorted cruiser that manages to get decent gas mileage.

The Hagerty site lists the average value of a 63 falcon futura 4dr with the bigger 6 at $7,700. Personally I don't think any of your mods really hurts the value - and makes it a more usable car out in the world. I don't think patina hurts it really either. I'd say fix the headliner, add some speaker grills for the kick panels and ask $8k in Seattle or Portland.
