As a new Prius C owner and first time hybrid driver, I have tried to resolve what we have. What is the objective - certainly not carving the canyons. I have a G35 for that. It is MPG! I average 50 mpg - you have to drive it for a while, like playing a video game, to increase your mileage. I get tired of watching the fuel gauge so long. I made my first fill up at 5/8 tank. It will go about 500 miles, I think. The display shows that I have saved $50 on this tank of gas compared to my old Honda @ 18 mpg. This is impressed in your mind each time you pass your favorite gas station. The steering is electric assist. Compare it to the same, not hydraulic. Try a Hyundai Accent and you will see what Toyota has done. The brakes are two phase; regenerative and then actual pads contacting. You get used to it as you see your mpg going up and your battery recharging. Some people never replace their pads for the life of the car. It is a whole mental conversion, the transition from conventional to hybrid driving. I got the car for my wife, but I chauffeur her most times because I want to increase our average mpg. The G35 is under a cover, taken out rarely to charge the battery. You missed my negative observations; the humongous headrests block the rear view and no backup camera option. I hope to fix that later.
