What the berkeley do I do with this damn truck?
Back story: I bought it in 00 or 01 with 82k on it. Now 213k. Bone stock minus the cutoff cat and missing exhaust now. 
Never put really any money into it during its travels down the road. It has sat for the past, uhhhhh, 4 or 6 yrs, I can't remember anymore. Typical PowerStroke issues, but still starts after a few seconds of cranking after sitting for months on end. 
Pictures are much better then what it really looks like in person.
Autocross F250? LOL Tow rig? It's a 7.3 and those are damn near indestructible. They fetch good money around here. Clean it up and resell it? Pull the bed and make it a car hauler by building a custom flatbed and hydraulic lift system and winch to help load and unload the race car!

Gas can is EMPTY. Plus I don't have any insurance on it.

Start a cleanup/repair/sell thread like Woody's Porsche, post pictures and updates on this board. Sell and make $$$...
So I went outside and filled up the obviously almost flat and bald tire. It has been that way for at least 4 yrs. My main concern is that the front suspension is completely loosey goosey and needs replacement. Complete replacement is north of 600 bones for the linkage and ball joints. 
So in between the raindrops, I drug out my HF jack and checked. The DS upper ball joint, the one I had to emergency repair years ago after it literally blew apart while driving
, and one of the DS tierods needs replacing, but nothing that needs immediate attention.
Of course, front brakes and all the tires are shot. Need a rear line for the rear brakes. Bleed all that out. Fix the DS rocker and cab corner from rust. Replace the rear POS Velvet Ride shackles and shackle brackets. Core support is rotted away, typical area on Fords to rust away, even on low mileage well cared for vehicles. Frame needs to be stripped and painted. That is all I can think of off the top of my head in the 5 minutes outside in the rain.
Ok, I put some elbow grease into, given it's FREE. I simply washed it today. Washing it makes it easier to work on instead of a junky and generally awful looking vehicle. Who really wants to work on that?

Now I feel I must wash my filthy driveway ornament truck. Might need to close some stuff up and mount the hood first though.

Cummings swap? Why do I want to give up a running diesel for another running diesel, but only after a LOT of mods?
I'll prolly just try to break 20mpg with it. I got 18 before with no mods. I would like to lower it slightly, put in a 99-01 intercooler on it, and a set of stage 1 injectors with electric fuel. I would also like to put in the 38gal rear tank too. It will suck to fill it, but 600 miles on that one tank would be super NICE.
Free? No. 
i would put a good chip in it (look at DP Tuners) before I did anything else to the engine. I run a + 80 HP "economy" tune in a '99 and the difference compared to stock is dramatic. Better MPG too if you can keep your foot out of it. Mine's selectable so I can easily swithc back to stock if I'm towing heavy and don't want to worry about EGT, transmission giving up,...etc.
I've got $400 in my selectable chip (3 tunes) and it is by far the biggest bang for the buck I've ever gotten out of any mod to any vehicle.
chip it, sidepipe it, slam it, put a fifth wheel in it, and use it as a daily work truck. saw a superduty crew cab diesel here in town the other week that was about 6 inches off the pavement done like this. lookd GOOOOOD.
