My daughter recently bought a Solara convertible and was asking how to clean it and care for it. Realized I really don't know. Anybody have any useful knowlege to sharet? I assume a gentle automotive soap would be fine. Also, is there any type water repellant to put on it periodically? All my previous convertibles were typical vinyl tops on British cars. This car has the fabric looking top.
Raggtop cleaner is a good brand. I use it on my white top and I'm happy with it. What color is the top? If it's white, a careful cleaning everyweek or two will keep it nice. Don't park under trees! Sap and berrys will stain a top in short order. Do I need mention drive thru car washes are a no-no?
My Miata top just turned 20 years old this past summer. I have lived with one rule, "no chemicals."
That means no soap, no sealer, no miracle cleaners.
Just Water.

Well she asked me about that too. You know dads are supposed to know everything, even if they choose not to listen.
Thanks!

It's easy on British cars...Make sure it's clean and dry, put it down,...never put it up
All convertible owners I talk to recommend 303 products. They make a range of sprays that supposedly protect/clean the fabric. The description reads like snake oil but it seems to be the go-to thing.
Here's the cleaner and here's the protectant. I think you can usually find them locally.
