A sweet little 77 MG B turned up at the local do-it-yourself salvage yard. I want to get the cam/head cover off of it. My question is.......what do I need as far as tools. What size socket? Do I need an extension piece? I don't want to lug a whole set of sockets/tools there, so what's the story? Easy? Hard? Do I need anything special. Any weird British thing I need to know. Looks easy enough.
And no I do not have a MG myself so I can't use that as a reference. Thanks in advance, I know somebody knows on here.

Not sure exactly what you are doing. Can/Head cover would be the Valve cover. No cams under there in an MG as that item resides in the block.
If you meant "Valve Cover" then it is just a 5/8" wrench or socket.
If you want the head, the info above is correct. If you have to remove the intake, you will need a 1/2" wrench.
I would take a vice grip and scredrivers just to be paranoid.
If all goes well this should take you 45 minutes.

Thanks Pete, just need the valve cover.
a little valve cover racing perhaps???

And I hope you didn't mean that you wanted the cam as well... that's going to involve some magnets and clothespins.

Nope...........just the valve cover. But now I'm thinking I might pick up the steering wheel too. Anybody know what size nut holds that in place? Thanks again in advance.
