This happened today.
Followed my own advice and bought "The cheapest thing with a V8... that is not /currently/ on fire."
Bought it as means to move stuff, and possibly haul a car trailer. We want to do a Dajiban build, but will have to wait to see how much trouble we actually got our selves in to with this one.
Bright side: Conrad is pretty excited

Edit: the link worked but the embed did not... hmmm
You just won the internet.

Looks awesome! Hopefully next year I will do something cool with my van. This year i just used it for work and didn't really modify it. I wanna road trip it again next year, with better suspension/stereo/tool storage/hvac etc.
Still waiting for the "questionable life choice". I saw nothing but awesome, but that may just be my Tokyo Rose colored glasses.
Awesome video! Never would've thought a video of an old, rusty, white, stock, cargo van, work truck, could make me smile.
I am glad everyone is enjoying the video. We like ite when we can spread some smiles
As far as the Van goes, We will have to wait and see how it turns out.
We are in the process of moving and we have a Safari van but it has a bad motor and a busted brake line... We were borrowing my parents beater S-10 to haul stuff from the old house to the new one. Then the S-10 ate it's 3rd gear clutches, and we had to borrow a friends F150 and another friends car trailer to haul that...
I told the wife WE needed a vehicle that could pull a trailer and make runs to the local home improvement center. I thought about an old hearse, but those rear doors are normally only about 3ft wide, and I thought about a converted school bus or fire truck but that would be a lot of work and hard to store.
I have loved the idea of the Dajiban since I learned of their existence. A GM van with an LS would have had more power potential, but I will be much more satisfied to have an actual dodge van instead of a chevy in Dajiban style. It also helps that it was only 4.5 miles from the new house.
This one being a fleet vehicle has manual window and locks, as a proper race van should. I have a pair of C4 Corvette seats I can use in it, it needs slots or stockcar wheels, and cherry bombs with side exiting exhaust. I can't lower it -too- much as it needs to cope with Wisconsin winters, but I may have to lower it just to get it to fit in the garage. The motor uses oil, thrans fluid is kinda dark (going to change it as soon as I can) and the rockers are rusted away (not a hard fix though).
This could be some of the best 750 bucks I have ever spent... or the worst.
As it sits right now it is Schrodinger's Dajiban.
Edit: sorry for the weird formatting... phone won't let me select things correctly

I would go with wide Diamond steelies - slots are awesome, but an entirely different vibe.
Oh, I forgot to mention...
An anime mural is going to happen on the headliner.

I agree the slots are a different look... but if you nail the stance and tire fit, I think it could work. It might be more Trans-Am though....
It would open the glorious opportunity of a bean bag chair with a 5pt harness in the back however.
I have been digging around old posts on the interwebs for suspension lowering knowledge, and I stumbled apon this
https://www.vanning.com/threads/ubbthreads.php/topics/657898/9.html
Not as low as the traditional look, but he achieved a good stance with just springs, and still have it useful for a midwest tow pig.
I might have to start a new build thread.
So are you taking suggestions for the mural yet? (I nominate "Angry Shifter Guy")
I want that conrad drawing framed and in my living room.
Take my money!!!!
I demand an opportunity to acquire a copy of that masterpiece.
Cool video, cool drawing, you sir, are winning
Awesome Dude, well done! I can see a whole new YouTube channel being born with weekly installments. Dajiban man. You can thank me later.

I'd like to see this on the back of my next seven GRM T-shirts.
