Some quick questions about autocrossing vee dubs....

1. How hard would it be to make a MK IV VW GTI into a reasonably competittive local autocross car? Not competitive at higher levels...but I know where I can possibly get one cheap.

2. How difficult is it to add an LSD into a MK 5 or MK 6 GTI? the computer would need reprogramed as well also, right...as this car more or less cuts power instead of having a pure LSD?

Still not sure what I want to do next. Right now, I'm just having too much fun autocrossing my Miata.

1) what class and with which model? They're heavy.

2) remove transmission, take apart entire internals, install diff... the only thing harder is replacing gears/syncros. Not sure you'll have to do any reprogramming at all. EDL/ASR or whatever they call it usually can be defeated with the dash button.
