When I'm in the middle of writing a contract...................go away or I'll lose my train of thought.
I've been told I'm intense when at an event, especially when I'm on a mission. Then, those same people are surprised I have a sense of humor away from the event.
I've known racers who put on an at-track persona. The late dirt track racer Scott Bloomquist was a master at this. Away from the pits, he was a different individual.

You've hit on why I partly act like a goof; early on I'd see the likes of Dave Aldana or Randy Mamola acting like a 12 year old in the pits and then go out and ride like the wind.
As a competitor, please please, don't take me seriously. A good friend of mine who never seen me ride was shocked at how aggressive I was.
Another friend having never spent a whole race weekend with me just started calling me Tigger; I'm awfully bouncy outside of the car. That's more the ADD but it works in my favor.
