Can someone point me to what clubs/regions host rallyx events? I'm in central NC. I only know of 3:

Tarheel SCC: 2.5 hours away. Seems ok from videos. Only 2 more events this year.
South Carolina: ~5 hours away. They just hosted their first rallyx event. Really short course.
DC Region: ~6 hours away. Awesome courses, but far.

Surely there are other rallycross clubs?

I'm interested in this as well since I'm also in central NC.

ProDarwin, where are you located? I'm just outside Siler City.

Winston-Salem

Tarheel may have a venue closer to Winston-Salem next year, it just depends on if the lease is renewed on some farmland one of the members owns.

We have people come out from the Charlotte and Rock Hill, SC area quite frequently. There aren't a lot of clubs running rallycross. If you want to pester the Triad Sports Car Club, maybe you can get something going with them. Every time I've talked to their members, I've been met with a solid lack of interest, but I'm sure there are more people in that area and possibly up into Central Virginia that are looking.

Or heck, find us a venue out that way. We'd love to have one, but our contacts are thin on the ground out there. We were using VIR as a draw from the Western part of the state, but they're wanting a lot more insurance and fees than we've been paying.

DC region has a new second location in catlett, VA that by all accounts is amazing. VIR has hosted a few events in the past. And there's a location in tidewater VA that's state owned and willing to host events, but nobody has organized one. I'd be surprised if other tracks in carolinas wouldn't be up for hosting a rallycross as well, if contacted.

I've looked, NOTHING in georgia worth driving to. (I'm the middle of sc).

and most of the nc area stuff is 5+ hours to get to for me.

The owner of 311 in Madison was building a Rallycross-like track. Dont know what came of it.

Even VIR would be a huge step in the right direction for us.

We (3 of us) are signing up for the event this weekend. How many people are typically at these? I see 16 people registered - is it likely to get cancelled with such a low turnout?

Co-worker sent me this. Was super excited for a minute. Then realized that this isn't the same Raleigh.

I won't be at the event this weekend, and I'm a bit disappointed about it. It's not uncommon for everybody to sign up at the last minute, so I doubt the event will be cancelled.

We (SCR-SCCA) had 53 at our first ever event. A lot of those signed up at the last minute. I figure at least 20% won't come to the next one. They've tried it and that's as far as it will go.

I would like to see us do an event at least 4 times a year. We will have to see how that goes.

The course was fairly short and simple. We really didn't have the foggiest idea what we were doing. Midway Motorsports Park has another, larger, field they want to dedicate as a rally cross area, but it needs some more prep work to be usable.

Looks like South Carolina's next Rally Cross is October 16th.

Is this at the same venue as the first one? Any chance the course will be a lot longer?

Short course doesn't bother me as much if its local. But driving 5 hours to have ~30-40 second runs isn't enticing. Hope you guys get the bigger venue figured out.
