Went to my first event on the 19th. Way too much fun!! I used a 92 Volvo wagon with 277k miles. It survived !!

Now I want to add another use for the challenge car. Is it possible to build it to do all three ? I can change springs and shocks and ride hight.

Awesome! Careful though, it's addictive.

As for rallycrossing a challenge car, my 300zx has been a dedicated rallycross car since 2011 and it will be at the challenge. I wish GRM would include a rallycross segment into the challenge.

Very cool. A 240? Mine was at about 220K about 9 grass-o'-crosses ago. So far I've washed it, Changed the oil and only recently had to change the original exhaust because It broke on the way to work one day.

As for yours, I'd count on it continuing to survive

Rallycross is the best thing you can do in a car. Whether or not you want to increase ride height is really dependent on your courses. Unless you need to get up and away from big rocks, it won't do anything good for your handling on the dirt. You might like to increase spring rate at stock height, and good working shocks are your best friends.
Remembering back to my 245 days, you might put a dent in the oil pan is you're really unlucky or damage the exhaust, but the 240 cars are really robust. They have quite a following in the pacific northwest. Check out the Rally Anarchy forums for a bunch of rally volvo stuff.
