It certainly looks like what you would expect an AMG-tuned Gallant to look like, and the numbers were kind of respectable for 1989. Not as great as the Gallant VR4, but better than the Lancer O-Z Ralley.

I had those AMG sawblade wheels on my 91 Galant vr4. The AMG mitsu's actually could be had with a choice of two wheels. Think they're called AMG type-1 and AMG type-2 wheels. The other set was similar to the typical AMG wheel you'd find in the 90's but unique.

I remember hearing someone talk about how they wanted an AMG Galant when they were new and contacted AMG to see if they were willing to do one for the US market. According to him, when he called AMG and mentioned a Mistubishi Galant, there was audible confusion at AMG about what he was talking about. So it sounds like AMG may have had no idea as well.
