1965 Shelby Mustang Pool table by Costco for $11k!

https://www.costco.com/1965-shelby-mustang-car-pool-table.product.100425969.html

Now you can bring a piece of vintage Americana into your home!

Your new 1965 Shelby GT-350 Pool Table is the ONLY officially licensed Collector's Edition pool table for the Carroll Shelby Foundation and comes complete with its own "VIN" number (Serial Number) and "Title" (Certificate of Authenticity).

Each Shelby Pool Table is directly molded from the body of a real 1965 GT 350 and is finished with top quality automotive paint and clear coat, wet sanded, and trimmed with real working lights, actual chrome bumpers and decals, and real alloy rims and tires.

The pool table itself is a regulation size 4'x8' top and holds only the highest quality three piece slate top.

With our exclusive agreement with the Carroll Shelby Foundation, these are the ONLY collector’s edition pool tables made for Shelby. Finished in original Wimbledon White and Guardsman Blue with cherry finished rails and a solid hardwood frame, your new Shelby table is designed to last as an heirloom collectible for many generations.

Each one of these rare tables is manufactured completely in the United States by Car Pool Tables,  with a portion of the proceeds of each Shelby Billiards Table being donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation, helping support children battling life-threatening illnesses and the ongoing education of children and young adults.

Your Shelby Pool Table is custom finished when ordered, shipped to you, and assembled in your home (attic, basement, garage, living room, game room, etc.,) or business (store, office, bar, or restaurant) by one of our professional billiards table installer.

I cannot say that it's awesome because it comes across as stupid. What say you?

Stupid.  As a pool player I can see it affecting your stance on shots.

Do not like, but I'd like to see a picture of one of those in a garage parked next to the real thing.

The only way that becomes cool is if someone puts a motor in it and makes it drivable.

If they sell them and the company making them turns a profit, then it's awesome.

As a pool table, it probably sucks.

Only cool when Speedycop turns one into a LeMons car...

I mean, it is WAY more useful than the average project mustang. Both as a pool table and also as a place to store boxes of other junk on top of.

Was it advertised in the Onion? Did the press release go out on April 1st?

I'd rather buy a $30,000 Porsche and write on it.

Ohh the lows that the Shelby licensing people will take the Shelby name to.  I don't mind it at all as a car that has been turned in to a pool table but somehow that it is a Shelby or really has anything to do with Shelby other than some of the purchase price goes to the Shelby Corporation is just stupid.

Best use of a '65 Mustang I've seen....  Waiting 10 years for it to show up at Barrett Jackson with numbers matching balls.

The 1% wannabe's will have one in their 5000sf man cave, because they don't actually shoot pool and realize this is horrible as a pool table.

The porsche writing table, now that looks good!  if it was $300, not $30,000.

I did you see my racetrack bathroom sink idea?

I'm obviously the outlier,  but I don't hate it.  I shoot pool every weekend and have my own table,  but try not to take myself too seriously.  I don't think this would impact my play too awful much, but I wouldn't pay 11k for any pool table.

Does it come with numbers-matching balls?  Is that the original triangle?  Has it been re-felted?  Chili recipe included?  So many questions...

I think it is really cool. I wouldn't own it myself, but I think it is really cool. I could definitely see it in a trendy bar.

This has also been available for years. I first remember seeing it in a catalogue when I was a teenager.

So how long before it becomes a shelf like most pool tables and 1st gen Mustangs?

The only Shelby that will depreciate with time?

I mean, don't most pool tables end up on CL or Marketplace with description "we're moving and can't take this with us" or "takes up too  much space and my wife just puts stuff on it for storage" with a price of $500, 5 years after bought new for $5000?

Car part furniture is dumb unless it's an engine block under a coffee table. That's where I draw the line. Buzz off with your Mustang pool tables, truck tailgate benches, and fake engine block grills.
