When rebuilding brake calipers on a new (four months old) car, do the pistons need to be replaced as well or will it do just fine with new seals only?

Is there any rust ? pistons look good no grooves . If all looks good I would use them.

If they are still in good shape I wouldn't worry about it. Just curious, why do four month old calipers need replacing ?

The brake cooling ducts were not installed before the track day

Can the pistons melt at some point? The plain rotors were cracked from all of the heat and the corner workers said the rotors were glowing orange in the braking zones.

If they're steel pistons I highly doubt you hurt them.

What's the symptoms/diagnosis? You mentioned the rotors are toast. What's the word on calipers? Stuck, leaking?

Overextended and leaking.

I would think just seals - with the thought the pad wear and cracked rotors allowed the pistons to overextend.
