I am struggling with where to mount the "anti-flood" fuel pump shut-off switch on my '88 RX-7. I bought a $3 rocker switch at the 'Shack. It has a black mounting surround with holes for self tapping screws on the back. There is not a flat surface anywhere on the instrument pannel binnacle to mount the switch to. I do not want to remove the column shroud to mount the switch to it because I am to chicken to try and remove the ignition switch cylinder. Any thoughts on a mounting location? Any reccomendations on a location using a different type of switch?

Thanks,

Ray

I always liked to use the headlight up/down switch out of a first gen RX-7 mounted in one of the blanks in the center console. Direct fit and looks factory.

bamalama - Thanks.

Any other possibilities. I will consider all options.

Thanks,

My '88 RX7 would flood until I found the broken O2 sensor wire. $18 later for a new Bosch sensor and it hasn't flooded since.

Center console where the "Security" lamp/coin holder/AAS selector would be?

Old school style, hidden under the dash so you reach it by feel.

I'm leaning towars the center console area as per bamalama and RexSeven's suggestions. Under the dash would be nice and clean (and the wires would be real short) but I am worried about hitting the switch with my legs while goin' round the cones.
