Well, as long as we're doing math - there's the little matter of paying for them. That might inconvenience one or two people. But, if you're willing to take other people's money to pay for it - or, better yet, simply put it on the country's 'credit card' and take money from people who haven't been born yet - no problem!
Well, as long as we're doing the math, we can't manufacture enough of them even if everyone COULD buy them. My point was that people don't need one minute chargers to make an EV work for them if they thought of a plug in car the same way they think of a plug in phone or a plug in iPad. For most of the population, the cars would be topped off most of the time.
It'd be the same with a car that you filled up with gas at home. You wouldn't necessarily need a 15-20 gallon tank that could be rapidly refilled on the run if you could give it 3 gallons every night when you parked it. For most use and for most people, that is.

I've got two electric vehicles that my wife and I use for daily drivers. Neither fill up from empty to full in a minute. Somehow, we've survived. Sure, I've got project cars and Sunday drivers that burn gas, but I haven't refilled the tank on any of them since October.
Everybody keeps talking about this science fiction requirement needed for EVs to exist (new battery chemistry is my particular favorite) but the fact of the matter is that for many people, the car that will meet most of your needs is already for sale at a local dealership (for a very reasonable price IMO). Sure, if 100% of the world was running battery electric, some changes are necessary. For a slow, steady increase in sales, however, the vehicles are already out there. Argue about how I'm wrong. Meanwhile, I continue to survive just fine with my EV commuters. Based on our experience so far, we're both already daydreaming about our next EV upgrades as the new electric cars just keep getting better and better.

I've been meaning to ask you about your Think since I noticed it in your sig a while back... I've noticed a few of them around town lately.
Could you be convinced to put some details in your GRM Garage, or do a little review thread?
I think it's too small to cover all our "appliance" needs, but if I could find a solid enough older wagon for travel and four-person trips, it might actually be awesome...
