Of the many things I need for my Mini Vtec project is a second "race" seat. The drivers side fine as I have a nice seat there. For the passenger side, I've made it a low priority as I don't need a seat there to be able to drive. Though for some HPDE events I will need a second seat for an instructor until I'm cleared to solo. I've come across a deal for a pair of reclining APC seats. I know APC isn't exactly the best seat in the world. Most rules state that the instructor seat must be equal to the drivers seat. I understand the logic behind it. However in my case, it would be very convenient to have a seat the could fold forward on the passenger side so I could access behind the seats. A-what is your opinion of APC seats? B-If I brace off the cage(for the seat), to prevent the seat from reclining backwards, something similar to autopowers brace is that suitable and in the spirit of having equal seating for an instructor? I could easily add a brace, though there is already a cross bar, and a diagonal that would be behind the seat.
