very much a full weight stock suspensioned street car, wont see a racetrack with these brakes, but i'd like a street pad that's grippy cold and will work well enough with some autocross if i should bring it. cheap is good, like autozone duralast gold if they made them, but more expensive is fine too and i'd like to get front/rear in the same compound if possible.

thoughts/experiences and recommendations?

Akebono euro ceramic or carbotech 1521 would be my first choices for street pads, although I'm sure there are others that work just as well too.

this may sound crazy but i have owned a lot of 944's (and sold a few to forum members here) but for a cheap brake pad that works well i feel on this car for DD and the once in while blast down the back road is the PEP BOYS Pro Stop brand. i have them on my 88 and they perform fine and at $16.00 dollars a set i find them hard to beat.

I haven't tried the Pep Boys pads, but I would avoid the AZ pads on a 944. Last time I checked they only made one grade, and while they worked fine, they would turn my wheels black way faster than I could clean them. I swapped them out with some cheap clearance semi-metallics or ceramics from rockauto, and they've been great. I think the AZ pads were organic, so I figured any semi-metallic or ceramic pad would have to dust less than what was on it.
