Apparently not many people want to buy stock Miata daisies or even the stock NB 15" wheels.
What do you guys do with old wheels that nobody seems to want?
I looked for aluminum recycling but they only do soda cans. My google skills failed me...
Thanks

Recently I've been looking for stock NB 15" wheels but you are too far away. My local metal place will take wheels. Not sure if ya'll have them out there.
Look for automotive core buyers or general scrap yards.
I've dropped them off at recycling places before. At one time I got $45 for old explorer wheels, which is pretty good since they were wrecked

Next time you see a crackhead on a bicycle carrying an extension ladder, ask him where he takes his scrap metal.
Ohhhhhh you're close! I might want a set of daisies...
Search for 'scrap metal' in your area and you should be able to find places that buy aluminum scrap.

Send them to me. I will break them down and use them to cast cool E36 M3.
I took my 15x8 6ULs and made tables out of them, tires and all. Threw some glass tops from old tables on them.
Look pretty cool. YMMV.

They're yours if you want them!

aaaaaahhhh... so that's the term...
Thanks. That works better than aluminum recycling - which only gets me cans.
I scrapped an old rough set of 16" GM alloys a couple years ago when our local metal recycler was paying $0.60-$0.70 a pound and got $50 for them, which I thought was pretty good. I just checked and it looks like prices are about that high again, so now seems like a good time.

Wait, 6ULs? I assume they were rendered square and no longer adequate for motorsports use?
You can always upcycle. It is beat up but it's 15 years old, it has a trailer hub so it turns .

More like an armed robbery, there was motive and opportunity.

Chicago boys gonna Chicago.
My local scrap yard pays $10/wheel for aluminum wheels with the tire or $.75/lb for aluminum wheels without the tires. Pretty decent really.

You can take the boy out of Chicago... well done, sir!
I just took about 20 alloy wheels that I couldn't sell to a metal recycling yard. Worked out to about $15-19 a wheel dependent on weight.

Did you have to remove the tires?
In reply to amg_rx7 (Forum Supporter) :
I had removed them all in one sweaty afternoon but found out they accepted them with tires as well (doh). I'm not sure if they measure them by weight with tires or if it's a set $/wheel price.
