I could say "well, in those conditions, he was probably waiting for exactly such a scenario"...
but damn, that was close!

Great, now I've got "Wolf Creek Pass" stuck in my head...
Got K-Tel's "24 Great Truck Driving Songs" for my 7th birthday. I listened to it a lot.
Look for the double helix pattern in the rain on the road. Saw it immediately. Not sure I could have reacted as quickly. An instructor at COMSCC once told me to follow the archeaology in front of me. See what went before and adjust accordingly. This guy apparently gets it.
I went back and watched it again, I see what you mean by the double helix. They'd be scraping me up off the pavement or trying to uncurl me from a fetal position, I think.
With the double-helix, it's easier to imagine him being prepared. I think he actually comes out of the throttle about the time you start to see it on the road. But you still can't see what the helix results in 'til it comes out of the mist in a big hurry...
I can just imagine the driver thinking "crap, there's a spun car up here somewhere. Is it left, center, or right?"
edit: "CENTER!"
I see what you mean about the double helix... looks like the car front of him was still doing the spin

You must be my long lost brother. I just sat and recited the entire song to my wife and son. And I haven't even thought of that song in close to ten years.
