I"m stuck. The axle is about 2/3 out. Do I just need to reef on it? Any suggestions? It was going all so perfectly. Until it wasn't.

So, the inner joint is stuck partway out of the trans, or the outer joint is stuck partway out of the hub, or?
If its come partway out of the trans, its probably cocked sideways a bit and jammed. Find a strap or bungee cord to hold the strut/hub etc back and out of the way, then push it back in a bit, then out, and so on.
is the strut disconnected Jeff? I know on some FWD, you have to disconnect it or there isn't sufficient space for it to come out.
Strut bolts disconnected and half of the shaft is out. The trans end is dislodged but won't come all the way out. A local mechanic friend thinks its the metal spring ring on the end of the axle. He suggests a couple of solid whacks with a small sledge and a metal punch should dislodge it. I need to run to the tool store as my small sledge and chisels/punches have not been seen since a previous move.
Does it have the factory LSD? I remember some Nissan's require you to remove the right side axle and using a punch through the diff to get the left side out.
