I sold the Camaro SS 1LE, a couple months ago, and got my wife a new baby mobile. Things are starting to settle down again, so it's time to buy another toy. Need to do it now, because once the baby comes im not going to be very available to shop or work on anything. I found the replacement a while back and am going to go pick it up tomorrow.
Me and a buddy tried 2 weeks ago. We took the lowest mileage vehicle in the fleet (a 15 yukon) and got to the other side of Dallas before we developed a misfire, a trans code and a cylinder deactivation code, and we lost trailer brakes. A shorter drive I would have pushed through, but I didnt want to get farther away have a failure and have a truck, trailer and car to deal with. So we limped it home and decided to try another day.
This time we are trying the highest mileage vehicle in the fleet. Its an 05 Dodge with about 500K miles but its been the most reliable rig we've ever owned. Just finished a pretty big repair on it, so Ive been frantically trying to shake it down all week.
Trucks loaded with tools and ready to roll. Gonna be me and my pops this time. So even if we have problems it will be fun to get to spend some time with the old man. Im very excited about the car and the trip. Wish me luck.
Any guesses to what Im getting. Ill give yall two hints, it has a V8 and is better in every way to the 6th Gen SS 1LE Camaro.
CTS-V or Miata with an LS

Same, saw Bolian say something about being a 79 year old mad trapped in a 57 year olds body. Im considerably younger than 57 but it doesnt feel like it most days.
1.5l naturally aspirated Diesel Jetta?
GT350 or a C8, though I doubt you'd get either on a uhaul trailer without scraping the nose.
Corvette? Not sure ~ Z06 C6? But getting it on that trailer makes me doubt that. A 454 SS pickup?
can you give us a hint?
why does it need a trailer?
Hmmm, I bet this gets an update in about 5 hrs or so.

Got it. I'm about 3 hours away from home.
I don't think it needed a trailer but I wasn't prepared to shake it down on a 5 hour drive.
Im pretty offended that dannyp thinks a dumb gt350 is better than a 6th gen 1le.
Hints are red, rwd, manual, v8, and its better than a 6th gen 1le.
I think the two closes guesses where 454 ss and diesel NA jetta.
Better than a Camaro? Are you getting a Vette?

Don't do cars that have rod bearings as a wear item
Dodge Lil' Red Express?
Or fossil fuel Ford Lightning?

To be fair I've never driven either of those cars, but I've not been a fan of most n/a LS cars I've driven just due to the engine's laziness to rev. They certainly make power though.
Want your LS to rev faster? Cam and gears.... viola; works on most dino engines.
And the answer to the OPs question might be easier than you think.
