I'm struggling to retract one of four pistons on a 1993 Toyota truck caliper. The other three went back in easy peasy. Is the fourth one hard because I've pushed the others back already? The pads are wearing evenly. I have only been able to retract it enough to get the old pad out...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated...

c-clamp and piece of wood/metal over the piston(s). Sometimes they retract easier if you crack the MC reservoir open.

use the old pads and either a c clamp or a large channel lock pliers to push the pistons back in.

if you use the channel lock pliers be sure to pad the teeth some how... I've always wrapped several layers of duct tape around each of the jaws so they can't hurt the piston ....

Make sure the piston isn't cocked in the bore at all - I had that issue with the 4-pot front Brembos on my old 944 Turbo. Once I got it straightened out the piston went back in like buttah

Well, I failed -- tried channel locks, using the pad, etc. My buddy will take the truck to a shop. The 4WD hub mechanism made getting the rotor off complex and it looked like a bit more than I was able to handle without risk of messing things up.
