After test driving a gazillion cars, I've finally bought something - Mk6 GTI DSG. I love it! I don't really know why I had passed on these, probably because I wanted a 3 pedal manual. I decided to drive one on a whim this past Thursday. It was the wrong color and a bit more expensive than I wanted, so I took to the internet in search of a shadow blue 2 door. There were actually 2 of these for sale in Atlanta (natch), one was a 6 speed with more miles and the other a somewhat more expensive DSG. With financing already in place, I ended up renting a car one-way with the goal of bringing one of them home. The 6 speed I wrote off pretty quickly. The shifter feel and clutch action were about the worst that I'd experienced so far (I started out in 3rd gear several times). What really wrote it off was the rough around the edges condition, the entire headliner was sagging. I decided to look at the DSG car while I still had the rental. It was at a VW dealer (Kuhn Marietta), and to my surprise it was CPO, even though the ad never mentioned it. After a quick test drive, I knew she was the one. We managed to get the rental dropped off with minutes to spare, the salesman bought me a milkshake on the way back, and we got started on the paperwork. Despite being captive at that point, there were no surprises, and I'm pretty happy with the whole experience.

I really need to figure out the stereo. All she can do right now is play the songs of her people:

Congrats on the purchase!!!!
What does the VW CPO get you?
I'm sorry, but those are the some of the ugliest wheels I've ever seen. The rest of the car looks great.

You are incorrect sir in your presumptions and shall be informed of the truth forthright!
Wheels are awesome. Congrats on the purchase.
Congrats!
DSG/PDK/DCT > all the manuals.

Thanks! I get a 2/24 warranty, and a car that is generally in better shape than I'd find on a lot.

Yeah, that's probably why. A set of "Laguna" wheels are pretty high on my list:

DSG certainly has better clutch action and shifter feel than the 6 speed in this case.

Dem's fightin' words.
Which the DSG will win, because it shifts faster.

You couldn't possibly be more wrong on that statement.

I found that design to be way more polarizing than I ever imagined them to be. I hate overly complicated wheels and their simplicity of form is wonderful and yet different than other wheels. Apparently not all feel that way (amazing, right?). That is all, carry on.
And what dealer was it? We spend so much time bashing dealers it is nice to here about a goo one every now and then.

The stock wheels aren't the ugliest I've ever seen, but these are way better!

I think it's because the black powdercoat makes it so that they don't have a clearly defined lip. The "Denver" wheels are the same design, and look a bit better to my eye:

I thought I mentioned it, but Kuhn VW of Marietta.
