Anyone know the best product to use to match the texture of the factory rocker panel chip guard on a 99 miata?

In my case, im trying to get rid of it.
If i get the chance, ill ask my buddy bill the body guy to see what he does. Hes the best body guy ive ever met, so i k ow hell know.
Also interested in the answer to this, because my car has sand-blasted the chipguard and paint off the lower edge of the front fenders, thanks to tires that pick up every grain of sand.

I used Rust-O-Leum "Hammered" paint on my 95. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty close, and considering where it is on the car, close enough for me.
This is what I used to duplicate the texture when I repainted a Miata.

In reply to EvanB:
If you don't use the stuff Evan mentioned (which is the best you can get from an aerosol can, and really looks pretty damn close), 3M rocker schutz is OE for many applications and looks factory if you use the special schutz gun they recommend.

After reading this, I immediately drove down to NAPA and they had cans on the shelf for $17.93
Old thread, but I'm doing exactly this project now. How many cans of the NAPA stuff does it take to completely replace the original chip guard material on an NA Miata?
