Who's coming down? Team Wreckless Abandon Racing will be there.
We'll be there with the Sanford and Son truck of UTCC fame, Supra, USS Enterprise sporting a new paintjob/alter-ego, and the USS POS (90's Escort).
16VCorey? You coming out with the boosted flamer GT?
Who else?
Wow, that's quite the stable!
I'll be there with Rbankracing driving a SAAB and trying to stay hydrated ;)
Armitage - you aren't named after a character in a William Gibson novel are you?
Staying hydrated is one part of the battle. I had heat exhaustion after being at the track last Fri for the UTCC. I had a water bottle in my hand all day. Didn't help enough. You might want to consider a plan B for the heat if you don't typically work in this kind of weather. I'm an office nerd and therefore unprepared for 102+ without counting humidity. I'm bringing a towel to wet and wear under my hat. I'm going to get some evaporative cooling as well as internal water cooling.
Saab? Wow. I had no idea that masochists....oh wait. We're all masochists to do this aren't we?

I know you guys have already thought about this, but have a place located on the roll bar or dash where you can shove a decent size water bottle with a long chunk of 1/4" tubing for use as a straw. Then you can get a drink whenever you want while in the car. A small piece of velcro somewhere on the tubing is good if you want to hang it out of the way when not in use. Each driver gets his own water bottle and everybody's much happier.
Xcel: Indeed I am, good catch!
Yea... A 20 year old high-strung turbocharged Swede and 100 degree heat on a track for 24 hours with not one but two 1/2+ mile straights... What could possibly go wrong?
Good ideas and thanks for the reminder ncjay, I almost forgot to pack my in-car water bottle!

That's a good call. I have a camelbak insert that I mount in the car for drinking while doing my shift. Helps a lot. Almost as much as a cool shirt.
GREAT suggestion.

I'm a sci-fi reader bro. Don't let Wintermute (is that right?) get you on track!
High-strung? What? You're using stock boost levels right? Just a helpful reminder, make sure to pack a cooling system that is overbuilt for the HP rating of your car and not the motor size. I've tracked a boosted Miata at VIR Full and the cooling sys needed a massive upgrade. I know it's late in the game but you might want to pack for that contingency if possible.
Both you guys come on by when you're in the paddock! It would be great to meet.

Wintermute put Armitage back together for its own purposes, otherwise Armitage(Corto) was a PTSD mess so perhaps dont unravel :D
GL all at VIR!
We're out, but we're getting prepped for the Chumpionship! You guys going to make the trek to Iowa?

Well that was an adventure ;P Yea, stock boost/everything. It's only the car's 2nd race so there are still kinks to work out. In this case the kink was the #3 rod deciding to come out the oil pan. We made it a little over 5 hours in and the car was running fine... until it wasn't anymore. How'd you guys make out? Your cars looked quick out there ;) But man, the level of competition has really gone up in the last couple years at these events!
