Crazy 1970's vans.

totally and utterly NSFW, they show topless girls to drive traffic, but the vans are so spectacular that I had to show them...

I have a van and I like vans, but those kinds of people scare me.

Yeesh..

A not insignificant portion of my childhood was in that "scene".

This kind of graphic was not at all ironic

It is strange that my folks who are/were total squares and teetotalers got involved in the 70's "vanning" culture. Going to van runs and just sitting around while no end of sex and drugs happened all around them and their children. I asked my pop about it once. He said "all we had was the 66 Econoline when we moved to Phoenix so I couldn't hang out with the muscle car groups or the hot rod guys, It seemed like the only option."

The Econoline was a bitchin root beer brown with 10" wide slot mags on the rear and a badass rake to the suspension though.

I'd love to have a van like that for a tow vehicle... (says the guy who was conceived in one)

edit: I meant '70s style in general, not the one above directly.

I lusted after a Ford Sundowner back in Oz when I was about 15

sundowner photo: sundowner.jpg

The van craze had a solid foothold downunder with offerings from Chrysler, Holden and GM.

Ford had the Escort (above), Falcon Panel Van and a Transit van version.

Hmm I have an old GMC van, and yes it has a bed installed in the back. SWMBO and I built the bed in it a few years ago to camp at the race track. Now we stay in a hotel, turns out women like to shower, go figure.

This is right up my alley. I've been lusting after a boogie van for so long. Neighbour a block away drives one but doesn't really care about how great it is. If it wasn't so rusted I would live to liberate it from him.

I can't be the only one who wants one of these.
I get weird looks when I talk about windowless vans at work though.
