I made it 6 hours into a 24 hour race at Sebring once, then we took our broken Civic and headed to the beach. Congrats on the finish!
Edit -- what engine is that? F20B?
What happened? I thought I saw you guys further than 6 hours in. I was also not very lucid towards the end haha. Yup that's an F20B, we started out with an F22B2 with headwork but it was too slow ath the end of the day. H22 seemed to not like running after 7 hours into any event. F20Bs have been great.
(This was in 2011.) We had one guest driver and one pro driver: both of those extremes are hard on engines. Lots of love bugs. Not enough give-a-damns to swap the spare engine on the tarmac. We took a team vote on whether to make a heroic effort to get back out or spend that fuel money on a couple of days at the beach. It was great.

What problems did you have with the H22? That's what we have in our Prelude and it's been stout aside from distributor electronics.
Cylinder 3 liked to be part of the SpaceX launch program, 3 races in a row, at the 7 hour mark each time.
After doing a lot of research following the switch to the F20B, we believe the 2 different tunes/tuners we worked with while operating H22s were not optimal. Looking at the Hondata logs, they were def shooting for peak HP and not driveability tuning, cylinder 3 would run really really really lean, get really hot, then poof. We learned a lot through during that though but the F20B has been a beast, not as much umpfh throughout the powerband but a solid engine. If we had to pick up an H22 in a bind we feel confident it would work just as well.
