My grandparents were very cheap and my grandfather was very handy. In their 60s they went on a long trip from FL to AK. Poppop outfitted the their long bed S10 with a non-raising topper. Inside were a small cooking setup, storage and even a little cassette toilet. The bed went over the storage at night. Everything you need and nothing else. Very lightweight and easy.
