Background is necessary here. Many people know me well enough to have been to the farm and have seen the issue that I have across the street. A large, over stocked, unsafe pole barn chock full ilof things my Father in Law hoards. I have laid claim to a couple items but for the most part it's a burial ground for perceived good ideas.
On top of that situation my own life has been hectic leaving me with an unfinished C4 LS swap (I am trying 30mins a day though), a filthy garage and a Forester race car that is in the way.
I got a call last night that I need to have the car hauler ready for Saturday AM. Apparently he accidentally purchased a non running 2000 Corvette that "probably has a bad carburetor"...
Seriously can not wait to see what I have inherited.

Wait, 2000 and carburetor? In a Corvette?
In reply to 11GTCS :
Yeah, there is no carburetor. I will have a garage full of non running Vettes this winter I am quite certain.

But.. if there IS a carburetor it will most certainly be bad.
The best fix for faulty fuel injection is a carb swap. I'm in for pictures!
In reply to Gearheadotaku (Forum Supporter) :
I've got a complete standalone ACES system at the ready for my car if it's that bad
what number am i for the MGA?
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :

Run away......................my Hoarder pal would call me to assist him in dragging home more stuff. About 10 years ago I started refusing to enable him.
I'm trying to think of a way to write something along the lines of "you need to start establishing boundaries if these sorts of events are not enjoyable to you". I guess I just did? Also in for pics.
He just has to look at it until it's inheriting time and then free LS1!

Does he have any more unmarried daughters?
In reply to Tom1200 :
He's mobile, has a F350 and a 40 foot car hauler, he calls me because he wants to share with me. He will buy this stuff no matter what. I have access to a dozen generators because of him. I prefer that he doesn't get hurt, so I enable.

IF that is the case, I will 100% swap my LS1 intake and ACES Fuel system setup on to it, then use the carb setup for the C4!
"I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
My uncle left my cousins two 40' boats in a marina with large monthly slip fees, a dozen or so cars (mostly El Caminos and Chevelles), multiple tons of LS6/7 parts along with the usual house full of crap. It took them a couple years to sell it all off, probably at cents to the dollars he paid for it all, because they didn't know what most of it was.
IMHO you need to have a chat with him and tell him he has a problem. Maybe he should start selling now so you don't wind up in a multi year hell cleaning up his mess.

If it has a tunnel ram, I'll buy him a steak dinner.

Given that many (most?) of us here could accurately described as having hoarder tendencies, I would encourage everyone to use the above post as motivation to start labeling your stockpiles of incredibly valuable spare parts, accessories, and miscellaneous memorabilia (read: junk). Not only so that our spirits don't have to look down and watch as our loved ones sell off a NOS Healey steering rack or unobtainium C2 Corvette parts for scrap value because they didn't know what it was, but also because some of us are getting to an age where we have trouble remembering why we put a seemingly random selection or parts together in a box marked "project for retirement", or where a part on a shelf came from or what it goes to. I'm starting to have those moments now where I will pick up something that I put down a very long time ago and will wonder to myself "what is this, and what is it for?" If I'm lucky it will occur to me a few minutes/hours/days later that it is some bit of arcane mechanical flotsam that went to a car I sold years ago and it goes onto the sell/donate/get-rid-of pile. So do yourselves and your loved ones a favor, buy a bunch of labels/tags with wire or string, get a roll of masking tape, and start to curate the Museum Of YOU!
p.s. And for God's sake please write it in pen, not some faint pencil scratch that fades to illegibility in a few years. Your future self will thank you.
It may have been 3, nearing 4, yrs since my dad passed, but I know 95% of the crap I got left with including the E36 M3 I didn't know about....
I guess I'm "blessed"? Or is it "cursed"?
