So the fleet as it stands right now is 6. The "nice" car and Tiger Moms' DD is the 2007 Passat. The tow pig/beast of burden/kid hauler is a 1999 'burb. The race car is the CSPish Miata.
Then the fleet started growing, my late fathers' 1994 Ranger became my DD, we picked up a '98 Altima for the teenager, and then a 2000 Passat (because for $700 why not?). But I don't like the Ranger, it's too small, too bouncy, too old. So yesterday when I got an unsolicited offer of $3200 for it, I accepted. My DD will become the 2000 Passat (V-6 5 speed).
I think the funds will pay off a dental bill, a credit card, and put into savings against the next expense.
If I wanted to spend a few dollars on "myself" though, as far as I know the clutch in the Miata is original. Is there a better investment for a few hundred bucks out there to make a 97 Answer go faster than a lightweight flywheel and new clutch? (It's currently well torn apart getting new suspension bushings/alignment bolts/and rear subframe so going a little further now would be a better time than after the third event of the year)
She has been beaten on like a rented mule for 3 autocross seasons and a couple of track days and has 115K miles on her)
So nothing? This forum usually has something to say about everything.

Boring but good answer...
Or scratch savings and do a clutch. The Miata guys seem to believe in an ebay lightweight settup, no real data on it though...
If you want to make it faster, spend money on tires and suspension. Sways will help a lot in autox and are the big bang for the buck in grins. As long as the clutch isn't slipping, there's no real speed to be found there.
I love anyone with 6 vehicles...

Buy a turbo kit from Keith instead.

Trying to be a "little" more responsible. Already has the suspension, A7s, brakes, seat, and some odds and ends taken care of. I think it's gonna be a FM happy meal clutch and 10 lb flywheel.
The next step after that will be megasquirt/E-85.

I'm running the FM clutch happy meal with 10lb flywheel on my '90 Miata with the 1.6L. It's nice, seems to grip fine and doesn't kill your left leg. I honestly didn't notice a huge difference with the light flywheel.
If you're trying to be responsible, I recommend always having enough in savings equal to 2 months of income, after paying any outstanding debts. If you are already there, a little racecar spending couldn't hurt.
