Cold does that too

This was my thoughts. They reminded me of myself trying to go around a slalom course. I have a E36 M3load of fun and spend more time going sideways than not, and hitting anything that is remotely orange, but it sure as E36 M3 is slow! If the walls on the run had been cones the driver would have cleared the entire field.Kind of like a drunk Irish man walking down a hall. Rick O'shea.

Fastest time shown was 1:00.?. I suspect that the bobsledders have a little more experience with the course in question, but the sled certainly should be capable of going faster assuming it can corner as fast as the sled.
What a terrible, ridiculous, awesome idea.

Michele Mouton would like a word. When she broke the Pike's Peak record, she suggested to a bitchy Unser "If you have the balls, you can try to race me back down..."

Ha, yeah I've seen that footage. I was thinking more along the line of a shifter kart plus ice tires would go up at a good pace and require a bit of commitment where the sled kinda seems like the fastest way down. Guard those acute entrances on the way up though.
Oooo, that would be an ugly accident if you hit one of those. Not much margin for error, either. You'd have to basically wall off the entrance.
I too was thinking going up would be awesome. Going down with a motor is probably just as fast as going down without a motor.

whoa haven't been that insulted since I listened to Sen. Sasse. He did apologize for the ethnic slur tho'. I'm only kidding. We Irish walk straight it's the English that can't stay upright.
Wanna see scary? I took my CR250 powered shifter kart out for a few laps on my indoor kart track today and set a new track record, even though I lost a shifter bolt and could only use one gear 250 Superkart Indoors

I'd hazard a guess a proper bobsled or luge would be way faster. Those big banked turns, they're a foot or two from the top of the banking. If you've ever watched bobsled/luge, particularly if you've seen it in person, this looks like a really slow way down the track. Not to say it wouldn't be fun, but not fast compared to sleds.
They mention the speed they are going in there. It's over 100, I assume KM/H. That's all I got as I don't speak German. Bobsleds do about 140 KM/H. Maybe one of you guys that have a Porch can get the speed out of the commentary.
