I've been trying to buy this particular car for about 4 years now. And now I can finally buy it at a reasonable price. But! I live on the west coast and the car is back "home" in Virginia. What a pickle.

1984 Colt GTS. Turbo i4 with twin-stick transmission. 83k miles. Pretty rare to find, even harder to find running. This one is a runner with very little rust and very nice interior. I just wish he was willing to come down when I was still in VA. Now that I'm in California he has sent me a great offer.
These were actually very quick for the time---- quicker than a GTi, Z28, or Trans Am to 60mph at least. Super rare car---- heck, my N/A Champ is a very rare car. The GTS really was a little pocket rocket.
If you are going to attempt to drive it---check out www.rockauto.com first for parts. Parts for my little Champ were ridiculously cheap. I'm sure my car and this GTS share many pieces in common.

You are. In a Colt Turbo. I can see it in my crystal ball.
Yeah I know parts are harder to come by but they share parts with other colts and mirages. And there is a guy in Denver with like 5 of these. This particular one is actually the "pocket-rocket edition" which came with the black and gold color scheme and I think different wheels. I know TRE still can rebuild the twin-stick transmission.

Colt Turbo, you philistine! Didn't they sell those in Ye Olde back in the 80s?
Where is that .gif of Ben Stiller saying, "Do IT!"?
Edit: Found it but cant figure out how to link it.

Mercifully not. I think all but this one had rusted away before I arrived in 94.
That said, it looks really cool from that angle and best of all its not my money, so I say buy it and let us live vicariously through the build forum.

Then you are not worthy. You don't just buy a car this awesome, you EARN it.
Assuming, hypothetically, you'd be passing through my area during a time when I'm not at work, I can offer roadside rescue within a 50 mile radius of Pekin, use of my tools, shuttle service to local parts stores and a free overnight stay at my house.
Didn't someone dig up one of these track prepped (not a twin stick, though) last week? Black, sticky tires, roll cage, and huffing something like 20psi?
In reply to yupididit: Will you be able to get it through smog in the People's Republic of California?
I'll be in roughly Virginia in 5 days, and am driving east, but I'm stopping in MN and am already droving a car.
I drove from VA to CA back in March, but i had a wife and 3 year old in tow.
The car is in Northern VA.

I do not smog any of my cars or register them in California (4 so far). They are all reg in Virginia. And will continue to be done through VA for my duration here in California.
In reply to mazdeuce:
Sold him a Mercedes that doesn't like new owners. It seized the original engine when I bought it, and made it about 30 miles before decided not to shift and amputated it's gear lever when yup flew up to drive it back to cali.
