IMO, teaching is the most important and admirable profession.

I salute you.

Not me, KazooJr. again.  Apparently, this week in class, he built a wing.

Need more info. Have I missed something?

Sorry, just spotted this.  He took a vocational ed class called "Aviation Technology" this year.  It was held at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.  Among the various things they did was some basic sheetmetal work and airframe maintenance stuff.  The wing section was a graded project for the class.

my best friend Chris and I put together the longtail outboard using a kit from thailand. The engine is a Honda gx 160 . i had to build a taller transom on that little boat. I used rough cut white cedar 2x6 boards.

When we bought our house, it had a 6' wood privacy fence all around, except for ~50 feet on one side.  Inexplicably, that 50 feet was a 4' chain link.  I can only speculate that part of the fence pre-existed our house being built, as the neighboring house on that side is older.  I finally got around to making arrangements with the neighbor, pulling out the chain link, and finishing the 6' fence all around.  Also replaced the original man gate in the front with a double gate, so I can get a vehicle in.  Eventually, I'll build/buy some kind of 'carport' shelter and put down pavers.

Fully custom front and rear suspension for Fiat 600 chassis cars.

Ransom and I worked for weeks to map out a 600 chassis and get the critical points. The front has been converted from a transverse leaf, king pins spindles and steering box to coil over double wishbones, ball joint spindles, rack and pinion and sexiness.

Ransom also ran all the numbers through Susprog3d and we had a great deal of back and forth figuring out what was optimal and what was physically possible. The numbers all look as good as possible given the incredibly short upper arm. He dialed out the pro-dive geometry and even squeezed in a good amount of anti-dive. Our bump steer is great right up until the suspension is fully unloaded where it starts to change. The camber curve is as tamed as we could hope.  Roll centers are where we want them.

Out back we radically changed the trailing arm geometry by moving the inner joint forward and down. Welding that mount into the car is the only mod needed for installation.

Rear hubs are custom machined by me holding modern fiat 500 front hubs and wheel bearings.  Rotors are NA Miata. Calipers are Wilwood powerlites.

I am really excited about this setup

I made a Mistake.

The lower radiator hose I made had the rubber elbow in the way of the fan and it rubbed a hole in it.  So I had to remake it.

The upper hose I made was good.

Workbench I made for my shed. Picked the vice up at a yard sale in VA on a camping holiday, and the 3 drawer sets were surplus from my place of work. I built the bench to sit nicely around them, and the height to match my existing bench to the right. The top is out of a single piece of 3/4" ply, glued and screwed into a double thickness - I didn't want to pay $100 for a suitably sized butcher-block.

I grew two pineapples from two other pineapples. This one has two tops. Its parent fruit also had two tops. I'm mildly curious if I can make it grow two more pineapples with two tops.

I think this is my favorite thread.  I love all of the builds, creativity, and workmanship.  Just awesome.

I posted pictures of the car that I was building earlier in the thread.  I've completed it to the point that it can be registered and driven.  I'm 2 months into the NY registration process.  On Monday I passed a major inspection and DMV issued a VIN.  Once I get the paper work I have to have it inspected for safety stuff.  A lot of what you see on the car is there because of a NY requirement.  I'm anxious to be able to drive it.

Right now the car is in white gelcoat.  I still have to do final body work and paint.  I played with duct tape to lay out some stripe ideas. This is the one that I like.   I still have to do final spring adjustments.  Right now it's a little high. Particularly the front.

I'm having fun.

I bought this wrecked truck for the vortec 350.  I sold a bunch of parts off of it, put the wheels/tires on another truck I have, pulled the engine to find it was a 305 (D'oh!), and decided I'd make a trailer out of the bed.

Parts car '00 Blazer pulling parts-car-derived similar vintage trailer.  I still need to remove the body lift blocks between the bed and frame.

Clover appreciates that it is equipped with a cat shelf.  I'm not going to lie...I had not realized that the design included a cat shelf.  Happy Accidents and whatnot.
