OK, it's the silly season for us northerners. Frost, snow etc has fallen/hit. I've been driving the truck the last few days and remembered just how much I love the LR4 in it (with 3" magnaflow catback and K&N FIPK). How well it does with a tall rear gear (3.23) and lugging around 5500lbs empty.
So I have been thinking bad things about a junkyard LR4, cammed with an LS6 intake and dropped into something that weighs half as much. So what would be the perfect place to stuff it? 3k lbs or less, RWD are the only two requirements.
What would you stuff it into?
A Gen coupe would be awesome..... but that's a bit pricey still. Hard to find a good GC for under $10k still.

The $1500 bmw that westsidetalon has listed on here.....all you will need is the engine, trans, a driveshaft, and the wiring/plumbing to make it work. Should weigh 23-2500lbs with an iron block ls if it stays gutted.....

That'd cost more.....
You act like you couldn't find a ratty 1.8 miata for $2000 or less this time of year, sell the motor and trans off to some poor sap for $700-$1000, and be left with a $1000 roller begging for some pushrod vile-ness.

Erm, I'm confused. We're talking about what to put an LSx derivative in? I thought they went in everything.
Z32 slicktop would come in right under 3k lbs depending on the swap parts. LR4 should weigh less than the VG30DE

I don't know what that is.... but I want to.
bluej, please tell me more!
EDIT: I'm not planning on buying anything, just day dreaming.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
That's obscene.
I like it.

It's from my longterm challenge build. Junkyard LR4 w/ ls1 intake and gto pan. Thats an fs5w71c from an 87 200sx hanging off it.
That also means it could be mated to the stock trans in the z32 mentioned above.

Westsidetalon's ti already comes with a rear diff that will handle it easily.
Bah, it's only an LR4 we're talking about. You act like it's going to make more power than my MSM with Bob building it.

It's supercharged, bi-turbo 6.6L duramax diesel. Whatever you decide to put it in... make sure there is room for a driveshaft about the diameter of a 55g drum.
Bob, stuff it in your Dixie Chopper then it really would be the world's fastest lawnmower..... or the Nighthawk.

It'd be pretty mild. Cammed and a little head work to turn 8k rpms and around 350-380whp.
