I don't know if anyone else has been following this video series, but Retropower in the UK has been building a Mk. 1 Ford Escort for Sir Gordon Murray: https://www.youtube.com/user/retropowercars/videos Up until now the videos have covered the design concepts and fabrication, the video that came out today finally has the car in the booth ready for paint.
Each video has some glimpses of other cars they're working on, and those are pretty cool as well - one of them is a supercharged Stratos.
I've been following this series as well. The workmanship is incredible, and the fact that they seem to pay attention to both engineering and style/aesthetics with some nods to originality really appeals to me. Exactly what a restomod should be IMO!

It's fantastic stuff. I'm trying to get my head around the stress of building a car (and designing suspension) for the man.
Been following as well, great stuff indeed...

I'd just wet my pants if Gordon Murray were to show interest in my work.
I read a column by Gordon Murray in one of the British magazines I get regularly and I like that he is a proponent of small, light vehicles. In Episode 8 he and his assistant head out of the shop and seemed to be walking toward a Kia Soul to leave, not exactly what I would have expected. It will be interesting to see a driving impression of this Escort when it's completed, especially if Murray does it himself.
