This is an aggressive snow tire...
WRC!
The VW Borg Truck destroyed with these at RallyCross Nationals. Too bad SCCA is probably going to get smart about studs in all classes.

The tread is only there to hold the studs in place

I still say that the studded tires were like a dog turd on the hood. Red herring.
People notice the tires, they don't notice the rear suspension so soft that it never unsettles the front end. Or that the driver previously won an MF championship in essentially a stock 8v Golf that he had two weeks to put together after rolling his previous car.
I really, REALLY like his motor mount arrangement. And his steering quickener mounting arrangement. (Why didn't I think of that??) There's a lot of thoughtful and realistically-useful touches in that car, and it was wielded by a really good driver. But everyone focuses on the tires.
He was dang fast at the Eastern Championship, too, nearly coming back to win after losing something like 20 (!!!) seconds due to a stall and hard restart on one run.
Google Redbull Frozen Rush Tires, they're made in Alabama, shipped to Norway where one man studs them, them shipped back to north America.
Link Having seen them in person, they're the perfect tires for mustangs leaving cars and coffee, as I think they could be used as a mruder weapon.
