I went to a cruise-in this evening in Harrisburg at a Brother's Pizza at a mall near the 83/283 split. It happens on the first Thursday of the month - or something like that.
Now - there was the requisite ricer population. A friend showed up with his Six Pack Roadrunner, though. Really nice. The only carb car there!
There were a couple-a cars that REALLY blew me away.
One was a semi-gloss black Third-gen Camaro. Full Cage - semi gutted interior - racing seats - five point harnesses - nine inch with torque arm and re-engineered rear geometry - Camber plates - C5 wheels - Just really cool stuff. What really got me going was the Intercooled 498 Chevy BIG Block with a ProCharger running light boost - 8-9psi. It was truely a Bitchin' Camaro! Sounded GREAT!
Next to it was mid 90s Chevy 3/4 ton truck with a twin turboed 454 with a siamezed intercooler. It made the most bitchin boost - wooooosh - pop-pop-pop noises.
If you're in the Harrisburg area - It would be great to have some more GRM devotees. I'm hoping to get back sometime. I would call the Brother's Pizza for details.
I'm about 30 minutes away. A little late in the season, and Thursdays aren't the best for me either. First Saturday of the month (up until fall anyway) there's a cruise-in at the Soda Jerk in Hummelstown just outside of Hershey. You'll see a lot more vintage stuff there and less rice content.
You'll need to log in to post.
