PMC tire in Quebec, very gentle shipping charges. Canadian dollars. Anybody ever heard of them?

That doesn't look like a 180TW tire. I'm sure its crap, but how much crap?

That's the question... Are they cheap drifter smokey tires, or are they accidentally a decent 180TW performance tire? I have no great confidence.
EDIT: This is my post #7777...
You do know that Treadwear is a made up number, right? There's very little actual testing and data behind that number.
The Speed rating is another matter.

Yeeeessss... I have found very few tire manufacturers lie to give their tires a shorter suggested life span.
Is 180 TW acceptable for chumping? I know that for ST classes in autocross 200 is the magic number and I thought that Chump was the same just to keep people from bolting on racing slicks to gain an advantage. I'd think more manufacturers would rather fib a bit to get above that magic 200 mark.
180 is min- I checked the rules the other day. I also found out my local distributor has some, cost me $81.50 each. I ordered two just to thumbnail them.
And, I think everybody who builds a 200tw tire is lying through their teeth. A Hoosier R has a rating of 40, and I've never yet met a 200 tire that lasts five times as long as an R7.
The Toyota r1r went from 140 to 200 or something just to be able to run in street tire classes.
I realize this is opposite of what's being discussed, but it shows tw means nothing.

I can't speak to the tires but I've had good service with PMC tire. I've bought my last two sets of tires through them and both times shipping was fast and prices reasonable for us Canucks.

Pmc is great. We bought 16 RS3's for the two Chumpcars, and freight to Saskatoon was $4.00. Not four bucks a tire. Four bucks for sixteen tires.
Gotta be some Quebec mafia thing.
Not D.O.T. approved? May be why they can sell them cheap. Didn't have to pay millions to the D.O.T. to be allowed to sell them here.
That would be awesome. Especially since the local fuzz here would never check for that dot stamp.
Downside being, if you get in a wreck, and they check that, they'll put the blame on you regardless... but if you just hauled them to autox events all is well.
Found a Kiwi who tried them out, found that they were good when brand new, but when worn in a little, quickly turned to garbage:
So, consider them disposables for the rear of a drift car.
Edit: Although one poster in that thread says they're good, with similar grip to a Z1...
I found them almost local through one of my distributors. I ordered two for $81.50 cdn each.
I will report back later.
