Generalizations that do not support someone's opinion automatically labels one as one of "them". And, THEM must be marginalized, humiliated and shamed into submission. All hail the interwebz and the bamf's who reside there......... Because everyone is right; right?

Precisely!

Or possibly I'm just trying to justify my own new car purchasing habits?

make fun of my wood paneled fridge all you want, but it keeps my beer icy cold.

If you get sick of it, send it my way. I've got a use for it.

i refuse to drive an appliance. appliances are for my kitchen. the only thing that i drive that some would consider an appliance is my burb, but i have already modified it and bought it because i carry a baby, ladders, tools, and a trailer almost every day.

i had once upon a time what most would consider an appliance. a chevy lumina. but it was bright ass red, and i put in a bigger engine because it bored me. it did have a soul when i sold it. because i gave it one.

some people are made to drive beige sedans, i am not one. that is why i am here.

I see plenty of appliance bashing on here. Any time a Camry is mentioned, its followed by comments of "OMG, how can you drive one without dying of boredom!?" and various claims of how it is a terrible car because its so boring. Who the berkeley cares if its boring? It's an appliance. This is what I thought when I read the OP. Why criticize the Camry for being such an excellent appliance?

All of the pictures of modded econoboxes in this thread: not appliances. Appliance = stock, boring, car to get back and forth to work. The GRM project Camry is a project car. The $2K challenge cars are former appliances.

I DD a 98 Saturn. I love it for what it is: A cheap, reliable source of transportation. When driving in stop and go 35mph traffic on the way to work, its not like a sports car is any more fun.

I want to nominate my wife's 2007 Corolla as the best appliances car on earth. It's never broken & goes 80 K miles between brake jobs + gets 40mpg consistently
