Some of us need to plan.
I think CAM cars would be amusing to see. I'm genuinely interested in trying next year. And it would be neat to see how fast you loons could go with a SCCA CAM legal build for ~$2K
Lifted non-truck vehicles. Let's say, things that have at least 12" of ground clearance but have to be actual passenger cars and not trucks/SUVs/crossovers.
Since there's a huge epic thread up on the front page right now about lifted cars.
edit: photo of something more what I was thinking...

That one along with the el Camino etc will have the old fashioned debate or protest of is it a car or truck lol

Yeah, I thought about that as soon as I posted the photo. Maybe clarify that it must be a unibody CAR so that you can't do a body lift, but would instead have to do it either with really big tires or really tall suspension.
I thought the discussion went towards a specialty tire class ($80 a tire new price) or was that different from the specialty vehicle class?

I know where you’re going with it. I don’t have anything laying around that fits the bill
I like the pirate ship idea.
$80 tire class I feel would be interesting. Cam would look good in the magazine
Bike motor class?
Fixed tire type and size but must be a cheep tire. (Sponsor opportunity here). Playing on the $80/tire noted previously.

I don't actually have a dog in this fight, 'cause there's no way for me to field a challenge car 'till 2021-ish.
That being said, I could see CAM cars being a good direction. It could solve some of the "what do I do with it after challenge" questions people face, plus would be relevant for the magazine from a "see these are real competition vehicles" angle... plus it might help get more people out to more "grassroots motorsports" events.
$80 tire class doesn't seem like it would be very fair to various cars. Obviously the cars running 15" wheels like a Miata can get better tires for $80 than something that needs 17" tires, for example....
