Me!!!!
I wish I was there, but alas full time work and Grad school and three kids and a wife.. blah blah blah. I couldn't make it
I am there is spirit, and I am stalking the challenge page.
I'm re-freshing every 10 minutes while working on my homework!
I'm also getting live text messages from my buddy John who's spectating. He said the BMW-6 RX7 needed wheel stud work...
I'd try the CarDomain thing, but that site is sooooo slow!
Andy's ratrod V8 Bug looks so cool! A BMW powered RX7 showed up and the DeVine clan's Ghia is back. Man, I wish I was there.
I'm watching! I sure wish I could be there....oh, all the tricks I could learn! Seeing something in person is invaluable in cases like this, but for now I'll just have to survive on the random updates. Thanks, something is better than nothing! :)

ohh you're the best.. don't kill yourself for this one.. but RSS feeds from events would be cool.
I'm here and it was a blast!! Incredible cars and driving from the hot shoes, including some fantastic sideways saves down at the far end of the autocross. What can be said about the fantastic Hong Norr Hondas. Super clean, and super fast. Turbos ruled the day. My favorite was David Brown's sleeper Mitsu Mirage sedan. Fifth in the autocross. So stock looking, so dangerous. If it hooks up well at the drags we will be in for a treat!! If it beats the Hongs, there will be weeping and wailing and knashing of teeth. Better leave quickly David, before vengeance is theirs!! :-) Get them drunk enough tonight on some Red Stripe and ease their coming pain. This is just a bag of fun!!!
I am.
That V8 Bug is the coolest thing ever, and the Bimmer powered Rx-7 also looks amazing.
Can we still expect a clown-car/bezerkely showdown?
Unfortunately, doesn't look like it will happen this year. The Berzerkeley appears to have eaten its differential.
Wha? You mean that custom one-off piece 99.9% could never replicate?
You guys should seriously try a more grassroots alternative. Maybe look into a snowmobile diff? Those things make insane power. Point is that diff was too over the top.
The green 'stang and the 300zx were laying some serious rubber on the AutoX course. Those cars were putting on a great show.
P71, I'm not sure what direction Per and Tom are going to go in. I heard several ideas yesterday. Of course, we'll be posting updates as soon as we can dig into it.
Sorry to hear about the diff problems. All that work, just to break... Congrats to the Hong Norr crowd for the AX win!
By the way, didja know that if you click one of the update pix it gives a large version, and there's "previous" and "next" links so you can flip through a slideshow?
I did notice the Prev/Next buttons, and used them ;)
Poke Per and Tom with a stick so they do something the average GRM'er can replicate this time. Custom built diff's are out of reach for the vast majority of us, and motorcycle engines are cheap so we all want to build something with one.
The live updates ROCK!! It's really making me wish I hadn't had to back out. Of course, it appears that the team I was gonna hitch a ride with didn't make it either (Mental) Hope everything's OK!
You'll need to log in to post.
