Congrats! Can't fault you on that one.
Hey Wonko, whaddya say to a 164 Chump racer?
Are we going by real world sho 1/4 times(14.5-15.3 range)
Real world times is fine. Stock dohc/5spd 3000gts can run low 15s. Not 14s, but i never said they were AS fast as an SHO, just not enough slower to put them in totally different categories.
By the standards of the day, the 3000GT SL with the 220hp DOHC motor had enough grunt to be fun, they definitely weren't slow. The 160hp SOHC version that they sold for a while -- THAT was slow.
I had a dodge dynasty with a worse version of that exact same sohc motor that ran 15.2 w/ a 2.2 60' and a 5800rpm rev limiter. It was pretty close to being a high 14 car with a replacement clutch (it hit a best of 2.08 60' on new slicks..) and a higher rev limiter. I liked the motor so much, i specifically sought out and bought a SOHC 3000gt. Some people.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5dhfbbrrp8 Listen to that clutch ruining my ET.. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk124/Vigo327/DSC04203Large.jpg Replacement.
Still, you went to comparing first......
I wouldn't be surprised if the SL I drove was a 12v.....it lacked power compared with what I was used to at the time.....

Well, i initially read your statement as "a 3000gt SL is too slow, so get an Alfa 164". I understand that's not what you meant but thats why i got to wondering what you thought was slow or fast.
