Having watched two episodes of SCCA runoffs(Mazda spec) at Indy on CBSSN .....I'm sorry ....NOT.....just plain boring to watch........if i wanted to watch single file 'racing' I'd still be a big NEKCAR fan, but alas I'm not. To those that participate, I don't have a berkin' clue as to the prep ,time ,commitment, something, something, something, but when sandwiched between DTM yearend highlights(rubbin' is racin').....I'm lookin' for a stein, a bratwurst, the remote ,and the BIG chair......
As anybody who has read Douglas Adams knows, the Answer and the Question cannot coexist in the same universe.
And as anybody who has watched The Matrix knows, it is the Question that drives us.
And as anyone who has watched The Matrix knows, the whole thing was some sort of gigantic Biblical allegory, with Neo as a Christ-like figure. And in the Bible, it's proven that Plymouths are holy, since Jesus "drove them out in His Fury".
They still make Miatas, they don't make Plymouths anymore. Question and Answer not existing in the same universe.
Forty-two.
I own a Plymouth. And a miata.
And i raced both.
Does that make me a holy man with an answer?
I didn't want to say it earlier this year about an entirely different race series for fear I'd get flamed but there is some kind of electric single seater race series out there that I watched this year that was awful - in NJ, street track maybe, can't remember obviously. Something about spec racing?

So, what you're saying is, so long and thanks for all the fish.
There are certain tracks where you're just watching a huge line of cars slowly bump draft down a straight for what seems like multiple whole minutes. I was worried that Indy might be one of them though I admit that I haven't watched the race yet. On the other hand a couple years ago at Road Atlanta maybe?, the Nationals race was absolute chaos and if it weren't absolutely terrifying it would have been great to watch.
I watched the Miata and SpecRacer races from the bleachers outside turn 1. They were all good races. Neither class has enough power to be blasting out of corners ,so passing is largely under braking, even with a front straight as long as Indianapolis.

I own a Miata and I don't even pay attention to Spec Miata. Or most professional race series. In fact the only pro motorsports that I really follow, and watch every event and go and attend every year is one of the most derided my motorsports purists (Formula Drift). Not everything is for everyone, that's why there is so many different types and series.
Most spec races are pretty boring after the first trip through turn one.

It also says in the bible that Jesus and his apostles were honda guys, because it clearly states "They all came in one Accord". So he had a plymouth and a honda. So if your wife asks why you need so many cars, tell her that it says so in the bible.

FE can be boring, but it can also be very exciting, and that's lighting a fire under F1's ass. Many of the new F1 rules over the last year or two were in direct response to the racing action FE can offer. It's a win no matter how you look at it.
I don't think anyone calls it the Answer because it's fun to watch on TV. It's fun to drive.
I've never gotten into watching racing of any sort. I'd rather be on track myself. In person it can be fun for the right event but for the most part I just like the wheel time and working on the car.
Tempest, Ram, Accord, Fury, Triumph...
American, Japanese, British... it’s all in the Bible.
In reply to ebonyandivory : They are in the Bible. Muscle cars too.
American? Mark 6:25 (KJV) And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
Japanese? Acts 2:1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one Accord in on place.
British? Habakkuk 3. This is the prayer of triumph that Habakkuk sang before the Lord:
Nice Datsun310Guy.
Spec Miata+Roval is like watching paint dry. Same thing last year at Indy. Now Spec Miata + Watkins Glen....Now we are talking.
