Here is the deal:
The Volvo-Miata Chimera that I am building is going to require another Miata to conclude the project.
The one I have is too rusty, plus I have learned enough (read made enough mistakes) that a second go-round is the best way to conclude.
I figure that Atlanta is the closest to rust free cars that I might drive back to Ontario. Dings don't matter and neither does the typical B post rust or top condition. I just need a car that is solid to the pinch lines and has enoug engine left for one drive.
If anyone has any insight into the Miata market in that area, I would love to know what I an getting myself into for a fly and drive.

Can I just ask if you're ready for the dance of the seven bureaucratic veils you'll need to go through to get back across the border? I believe the US govt now wants 24 hours' notice if you want to leave with a car; meanwhile, on our side, I don't know if our beloved RevCan will accept the price you paid or use their own numbers to come up with a value for the purpose of charging GST.
If you have all this figured out, & want to share some tips, we'll gladly listen.
I've imported cars and bikes from the U.S. It's simple and straightforward, as long as you follow the rules.

My understanding is that 72 hours is needed for the paperwork. There is a tariff involved since the car was built outside of the NAFTA treaty. Harmonized sales tax will be due at the Canuk side.
I have posted a separate thread for anyone that wants to drive their Miata here and fly home without it. Just come over as a visitor. Since the car is going to meet Mr Sawzall, it wont really matter.
